WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT

With Decision No. 27849/2019 in Proceeding I-805-PRICES OF CORRUGATED CARDBOARD, the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) ascertained the existence of two related cartels comprising certain suppliers that unlawfully collaborated in order to distort competition in the corrugated cardboard market, resulting in a price hike for purchasers of approximately 30%:

  1. The first cartel concerned the market for corrugated cardboard sheets;
  2. The second concerned the market for corrugated cardboard packaging.

INTERESTED PARTIES

All companies that purchased corrugated packaging between 2004 and 2017 from manufacturers identified by the Antitrust Investigation:
Smurfit Kappa, International Paper, Idealkart, Gruppo Pro Gest (Pro Gest ; Trevikart ; Ondulati Maranello), Gruppo Innova (Innova Group Stabilimento di Caino, Innova Group), Gruppo Laveggia (Laveggia, Scatolificio Laveggia e Aliabox), Gruppo DS Smith (DS Smith, DS Smith Holding, Toscana Ondulati), Ondulati ed Imballaggi del Friuli, Ondulato Piceno, ICOM, GIFCO, Gruppo Sada, Saica, Mauro Benedetti, ICO, Grimaldi, MS Packaging.
