The\u00a0Forum<\/strong>, which took place in\u00a0Bologna<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a029 November<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0Cappella Farnese di Palazzo D’Accursio<\/strong>, is considered\u00a0a leading light in the debate on technology in the legal world<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It focused in particular on the\u00a0synergy between the law and technology<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

LexCapital’s\u00a0CIO Manuel Caccone<\/strong>\u00a0gave a talk which focused in particular on the\u00a0topic of “Litigation Funding<\/a>\u00a0and Predictive Justice<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

Legal Tech Forum 2023 in Bologna: an important conference on legal technologies<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The event was\u00a0promoted and coordinated by\u00a0Legal Tech Italy<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

An\u00a0observatory<\/strong>\u00a0– founded by the Bologna-based company\u00a0Kopjira<\/a>\u00a0– which has been\u00a0studying the legal-tech sector<\/strong>\u00a0for many years and is concerned specifically with the\u00a0interaction between the law and the numerous possibilities offered by new technologies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Since 2015<\/strong>, Legal Tech Forum has been an\u00a0unmissable event for those wishing to discuss developments in technology in the legal field<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A discussion which sees the\u00a0active participation of influential guests<\/strong>\u00a0– companies, start-ups, law firms and industry professionals – who\u00a0bring their field experience and encourage debate on this cross-sectoral issue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To date<\/strong>, the event has welcomed\u00a02500 participants and more than 150 speakers<\/strong>, who have been invited to discuss how the\u00a0spheres of law<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0new technologies<\/strong>\u00a0can be combined.<\/p>\n

The historic guests of Forum 2023<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Now in its\u00a0seventh year<\/strong>, the\u00a0Legal Tech Forum<\/strong>\u00a0has seen the participation of\u00a0renowned speakers and leading companies over time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Among these companies were\u00a0Sky<\/strong>,\u00a0Google<\/strong>,\u00a0Mediaset<\/strong>,\u00a0IBM<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Cisco<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event, after two years of being held remotely, was\u00a0back open to visitors attending in person<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This decision was taken not only in order to\u00a0appreciate the physical spaces symbolising the birth of the project<\/strong>, but also to\u00a0encourage direct (in person) debate between the various professionals in the sector<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Many topics were discussed:\u00a0Big Data<\/strong>,\u00a0Cybersecurity<\/strong>,\u00a0Metaverse<\/strong>,\u00a0Blockchain<\/strong>\u00a0and, of course, the\u00a0new frontier of artificial intelligence<\/strong>, with its\u00a0legal and regulatory aspects<\/strong>, and\u00a0Predictive Justice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The debate on legal technologies<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The\u00a0debate<\/strong>\u00a0surrounding legal technologies is not merely technical, but also\u00a0involves questions of ethics and morality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0Tommaso Grotto<\/a>\u00a0– CEO and co-founder of Kopjira – pointed out, we are living in a\u00a0historic time<\/strong>\u00a0in which our\u00a0interaction with new technologies<\/strong>\u00a0is becoming more and\u00a0more widespread and intrusive in every sector<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This leads to questions regarding the\u00a0functional aspect of these tools<\/strong>\u00a0– their correct use – and also regarding the related\u00a0ethical and social issues<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
